Born in Erzurum, Ibrahim Haqqi established a strong spiritual connection with the Tillo (Aydınlar) region of Siirt, where he developed a deep relationship with Ismail Fakirullah, one of the leading spiritual guides of the period.
After continuing his education in Erzurum, Ibrahim Haqqi returned to Tillo and devoted himself to Sufi life, deepening his scholarly and spiritual studies. During his visits to Istanbul, he worked in major libraries of the era and showed interest not only in religious sciences but also in astronomy, mathematics, medicine, and ethics. In this respect, Marifetname is regarded as a comprehensive work that reflects both religious knowledge and the scientific and cultural understanding of its time.
Today, the name of Ibrahim Haqqi Erzurumi continues to be remembered in Siirt and the Tillo region through his spiritual legacy and works. For visitors, he represents an important figure who enriches Siirt’s cultural and faith tourism routes.
